PMS (premenstrual syndrome): Sign(s) that you are at an imbalance with your mind, body, and/or spirit.

Here is the tea sis: PMS is predictable. PMS is inevitable. PMS can be like clockwork but only to people who are in-tune with themselves.

Most women I have talked to slip into the habit of living with it, not doing anything about it, and end up wondering why they are always so tired.

Moving forward… START ASKING YOURSELF QUESTIONS. You are your number one priority. Get to know yourself like you are your full-time job.

(If you are a mama reading this, I see you, I hear you, you have way bigger fish to fry)

But to my gals who have the time and space to put themselves at the top of their priority list… THIS IS YOUR SIGN to begin rebalancing your hormones.

Don’t know where to start? Me neither. But I am on a mission to create a little something that could potentially get us all to experience rebalance.

Without further ado… I’m introducing The Hormone Project. The purpose is to figure out a unique rebalancing blueprint for us to refer back to whenever we start to feel “off”, even if that is an everyday occurrence.

Keep reading and I’ll answer some of the questions you might be having…

  • Question: What if I want to start now?
  • Answer: Start with the basics, educate yourself about yourself… YOU are the answer to what makes you holistically feel healthy.

Pro tip: We’re in an era where everything about anything can be accessed, just look it up a few times to confirm more than one source has the same answer. If it seems like something your body, mind and spirit would agree with, then try it out.

  • Question: How can I be proactive and prepare for my cycle?
  • Answer: Get to know your body on a deeper level by tracking your cycle to be able to predict moments like potential ovulation, where your energy levels are at, when PMS might hit, etc.

Question: What kind of bear is best?

That’s a ridiculous question.

Answer: False. Black bear.

  • Question: What do I listen to?
  • Answer: Podcasts, books, other’s experiences, your mentors

Pro tip: Ultimately you listen to your body, mind and spirit and choose based on your inner guide.

NEXT!!!

Below I have summed up PMS into three categories:

  1. Physical Symptoms
  2. Mental Symptoms
  3. Soul Symptoms

Within these categories are signs that our body, mind, or spirit shares with our “control center” aka our inner guide – your individualized & unique awareness.

From personal experience and common research, here are a few symptoms I am sure you can relate to…

PHYSICAL:

  • Cramping
  • Body aches (specifically lower back)
  • Tight/heavy hips
  • Acne
  • Titty pain

MENTAL:

  • Easily upset/hurt
  • Paranoia/feeling misunderstood
  • Anger
  • Brain fog/tiredness

SOUL:

  • Unbalanced/”off” (physically or mentally)
  • Listening to others vs. listening to self (intuition)
  • Quick to judge/react (emotionally charged)
  • Depression/Anxiety/Exhaustion

Pro tip: PMS is like clockwork – all you have to do is listen, assess and do something about it. Once you get the hang of yourself, you will be able to go about your people-pleasing tendencies more effectively and holistically. (;

PMS does not have to be this crazy big scary debilitating thing (and neither does life) so look at PMS like a blinking yellow light telling you to slow down and see what you can do to rebalance.

I have chosen many paths down the How to “be healthy” 101 and I have learned that listening to my body and inner guide is the healthiest way to live.

To live your healthiest, (I’ve said this before, I’ll say it again) you have to turn on your listening ears.

QUICK START: I’ve turned to working with herbs. They are simple, accessible and light on the body. They cover multiple health benefits and they are from our beautiful mother earth that we so graciously get to live on.

Pro tip: If you are over having cramps that exhaust you and put you to sleep… experiment with Raspberry Leaf Tea a week or so leading up to your period to see if your cramps are less of an inconvenience.

OKAY LADIES NOW LET’S GET IN FORMATION: It is time to start loving the places you live in & on. Focus on your body, mind and earth. Let the rest of the world figure itself out.

REMINDER: PMS is your body, mind & spirit’s way of communicating with you – learn to listen to her. She is the key to rebalancing your life.
